We got baby chicks over the weekend and about half died, Went back to the store and got replacements So far so good. The store said that they were either sick when they came or something happened during the overnight transfer. But the store lost a bunch and they knew something was wrong about the same time that I did. So 6 Buff Orpentings and 6 Rhode Island reds are now living in my shop. they will be there for several months until they get big enough to go to the big cage outside. They are so cute, cheeping and eating and then quiet because they fell asleep in the food bowl.
The garden is growing great and I hope that I can get the rest of the vegetables in soon. My order from the other seed company should be here soon and then we can get planting again. In the mean time I am planting lots of seeds in the butterfly garden and starting a tea herb garden. That is going to be fun. I will enjoy picking my own herbs for my tea .I am starting to drink more ice tea now that the weather is warm, but I still love a good cup of hot tea.
I am still busy trying to get small projects done so that I can say that I am caught up, but it seems to be never ending and so I just plod along doing my best. I guess that is all that is expected about artists that always seem to be behind, That eventually we will get caught up. I do wonder sometimes.
Well, that’s all the news from the south,
Happy” farming” to all the farm girl sisters out there.
See you next time down on the farm..
