Goodness, woke up to a tornado watch this morning and thunder and lightening like crazy. I had to get the dogs out, but at least at that time the rain had not started. It was kind enough to wait until we had gotten back inside and then it started. It is as dark as midnight outside right now. The only saving grace at the moment, is that we have a 3.5 ton generator sitting outside, that only takes 10 seconds to flip on ( automatically) Love Big Bertha as I call her. She runs on gas that is piped in, so I never have to worry.
With all the rain that we have gotten in the past week, everything in the garden that we had planted, has sprouted and grown like 3 inches. especially the green beans, and the cucumbers, and the snow peas. We are hoping to get some flower put in other then the Sunflowers. I noticed that some delphiniums had gotten planted and I have two different kinds of Zinnias that I want to get in also. I love being able to go to the garden and cut flowers for the house. DH has a nice rose garden started this year with two red roses , a yellow, and a pink/salmon color that is amazing. He still has room for about 6 more and I would love to add some climbing roses right next to the house.
I want to go back out to the blind to get some more photos, but I think I want to wait until the rain stops for a while. the fish pond is very happy that the rain is here so no complaints there. Of course, we have also been replacing so fence posts along the back side and that is going on hold for a bit because we don’t need to get the tractor stuck back there either.
I have been in the shop quilting and cleaning, and hope to get two quilts done this week, We shall see how that works out due to the rain. I also want to get my bottle tree made this week again depending on the rain. And I have been in a finishing mood , so lots of things in the house are finally getting done.
