Well, it is the start of another week . the weather is slowly warming up and has been rather nice outside. I am starting to look for the seeds for the garden and planning on what great things we are going to plant. I know that there will be several types of tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, beans of several varieties. I want to get some squash in and some tomatillos too.
I also have been repairing the old farm house, Although no one lives there, I have it set up as though they do. We had lost shingles during a storm, so those were replaced today, and the ceiling in the closet removed, because it was wet. Tomorrow, I am looking for some cedar planks and will use them to put in the ceiling. They will be a good bug deterrent. and keep everything smelling good. I have all the laundry to do that was in the closet tomorrow too.
I still don’t know if all the citrus trees survived yet. It may take another month before they start putting out leaves and blossoms. I hope they do, but i think I may be hoping in vain. Other plants are just starting to send up new shoots or growing up again, showing green leaves, so I just will have to wait and see.but in the meantime, I do have photos of the blooming azaleas.
Well, that’s all the news from the south,
Happy” farming” to all the farm girl sisters out there.
See you next time. down on the farm.
