0  Today I thought I would show a simple  file folder journal book that I made recently.  I used some colorful folders that I found at the office store.  I actually bought several different ones so that I could make theses whenever I needed to.  I used 6 folders, two of each color for this book.

There are no really tools needed except a pair of scissors .  Just the file folders and some pretty ribbon to tie it together.

The first thing that I do is to open the folders so that I can bend the first scored area  This will help make the spine of the book.

I then cut some of the folders to make the pages different sizes.  Some I cut the front half off and others I cut in half.

I decided what folder I wanted to be the front and back, and then started placing folders inside of each other to make the book

Then I took the scissors and poked three holes in the side where I had folded the first bit down (  I had done this with all the folders at the beginning.  I had lots of beautiful yarn and ribbon, so I used several pieces together to  tie the book .  I started by threading the ends in the top and bottom hole and then threaded them thru the middle hole to tie a not around the ribbon that ran between the top and bottom holes

These folders only had color on the outside of the folder, so that gives me plenty of space to add papers  and napkins as a background on the white pages.
