I decided to make some coasters for the studio. and I wanted to use a medium that I enjoy playing with.  Acrylic pour painting.

I started by doing the acrylic pour painting on watercolor paper.  to make sure that my paper stayed flat. I rinsed the back side in water and then laid it on the rack.  I then poured the paint on using the swipe technique  ( if you want to know more about this type of painting, look on You-Tube.  There are lots of videos showing the different methods)

I then used the circle from the top of the canning jar to make the circles for the inside of the coaster.  after cutting them out,  I glued the top of the canning jar into the ring using E6000. and let it dry for several hours. I then glued the paper ring into the top. and let it dry.

After a day of drying, I mixed up some resin and poured it on top of the paper  about 1/4 inch thick. and allowed it to dry for several days.

I now have six really neat coasters for the studio.
