My friend Winnie, ( red tractor lady) and I went to Trenton, Fl today to visit the quilt shop and cafe.
The cafe is called the Sawannee Rose Cafe, and has wonderful food and desserts, We both had the soup, I had the Chicken Chili and it was some of the best that I have ever had. Winie had the bean soup and she said that hers was very delicious. We finished the meal with Gingerbread cake, which was wonderful. They have a old fashioned Ice cream Parlor, and lots of wonderful cookies and cakes. Definately worth the trip out there.
Then behind the cafe is the Sawannee Valley Quilt Shoppe. This is a very small shop chucked full of the most beautiful fabrics and ideas. They even have panels to make the most beautiful quilts with. Winnie and I sent over an hour looking around the shop and finding fabrics that we wanted to use for future projects. They also had beautiful quilts on display.
One of these quilts was made by the owner, and it is above and beyond amazing. It is an ocean scene and she even added real sea shells to the wall quilt. I was astounded at the complexity of the quilt and I am envious of people who can free form quilts like this.
This is a wonderful quilt shop that I will definately be revisiting for all the beautiful fabrics. I am already planning a few quilts for next year that I want to get the fabric for from that shop.
Well, that’s all the news from the south,
Happy” farming” to all the farm girl sisters out there.
See you next time down on the farm.
