The weekend was quiet here, even with a football game in town. Yes I love the peace and quiet of the farm. No rain although there were plenty of thunder-bumpers and the sky was dark. So I need to spend some time watering the gardens, so that the flower plants won’t die.
I have been working on a quilt from Jacquelynne Steves It is a block of the month quilt called Save the Bees. I have started getting block one done, just a month behind. and will start block two next week. I have several other little quilting things of hers to do also, so though I would try to get them all done in the nest week or two.
The chickens do not like this hot weather, so they have been off bit off on laying eggs, although they get plenty of good treats. I notice that they are also starting to molt so production will be down for a few weeks while they do that.
I have been starting to target practice so that I can get my body back into shape for my bow. I have not used it in two years, and it is a 50 lb pull, so I need to get these arms in shape.
Well, that’s all the news from the south,
Happy” farming” to all the farm girl sisters out there.
See you next time down on the farm.
