Mondays Musings

The start of a brand new week.  I have lots of irons in the fire so to speak this week and hopefully I will get them all done.  If not,  well there is always the next week.  Of course it has been raining again.  and the area back by the barn is muck. like you would not believe.  I hope to get into Mothers old garden and rescue some of the pine cone lilies for the yard as well as some of the Easter lilies.

The bridge over the dry riverbed is coming along and hopefully will be done is the next few days. as well as maybe the riverbed getting done.  Then it will be time to add some plants to go around the bed as well as some trees.  Normally I would not plant any until October but with all the rain,  it will help them get a good start with their roots sand I don’t have to water.  I will have to protect them until they get a bit bigger, since the deer here seem to think that they are quite tasty.

I walked out onto the front porch yesterday and saw a deer ( doe) over in the woods behind the flower garden.  I stood really still, so that I would not spook her, and after a few minutes,  she walked on into the back of the woods.  Then later last night,  I saw two deer down by the back barn.  So I feel good about that, since we are conservation, I know that the practices that I have implemented are working.

I finished the top to the Christmas quilt I was making, and have now cut the fabric for the next quilt. n Hope to have that done this week as well.
