Southern pound cake
Nothing store-bought can compare to the rich and wonderful taste and texture of homemade pound cake! It is decadent but worth every crumb!!
3 cups sugar
1 pound butter, softened
4 cups flour
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine sugar and butter. Cream until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Add flour to creamed mixture alternatively with milk beating well.
Stir in flavorings.
Pour into a well greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour & 40 minutes.
