Sunrise on Jan 1, going across Paynes Prairie
It seems that this year is getting off to a good start, We have been busy working on the fire lanes around the fences and have found lots of downed trees. Most will make good fire wood so not all is lost. There are lots of new little saplings growing to take their place and it is interesting to see life recycling itself.
I got a few neat photos of some tree fungus while we were working. I love seeing the old trees decay and go back to the earth.
Things have been moving very well on the house. Hopefully we will see the second story this week. The rooms look small due to all the lumber holding up the walls. We now have all the flooring and appliances and bath rooms bought and are eagerly waiting to get them in place.
Well, that’s all the news from the south,
Happy” farming” to all the farm girl sisters out there.
See you next week. down on the farm.

Becca,
Great fungus photos! Glad the house is making progress, very exciting! I saw your previous post, your quilts are absolutely beautiful! The fall fabric swap one is great, I love how you did it! I participated in that swap also, but my project isn’t done yet. I also did not connect the dots until today, but I think you might have been my Dec mail art partner!
